Intro to Adobe Illustrator Workshop
April 10th 6:00pm - 7:30pm
The Richmond Community Series is a series of free, in-person skill and professional workshops for the Richmond community. In this workshop we will teach an introduction to Graphic Design and the basics of Adobe Illustrator. We will talk about color theory, typography, design principles, and gestalt principles then we will dive into the Adobe Illustrator program! Participants will practice using Adobe Illustrator by completing a logo design project. The workshop will be exciting and hands-on! At the end of the workshop we will discuss resources for learning more about Graphic Design and pursuing a career in the field.

Marketing Competition in partnership with Locasaur
February 18th - March 22nd
The Radify Labs Marketing Competition is an opportunity for students to showcase their marketing skills. For this competition we've partnered up with Locasaur, the mobile app to share what you love about the spots that you love! Competition winners will receive cash prizes and the opportunity to secure an internship with Locasaur.

Richmond Community Series: Resume Design Workshop
March 12th 6:00pm - 7:30pm
The Richmond Community Series is a series of free, in-person skill and professional workshops for the Richmond community. Come and learn how to design a resume that is ATS friendly and that aligns with your personal brand! During this workshop we will talk about design principles, color theory, and typography and how to make a personal brand that stands out. We will also talk about applying to jobs online and how to optimize your resume for that process. Lastly we will go over content to include on your resume and how to quantify your previous experiences.

Richmond Community Series: Intro to User Experience Design
February 27th 6:00pm - 7:30pm
The Richmond Community Series is a series of free, in-person skill and professional workshops for the Richmond community. During this workshop we introduced User Experience Design, the role of a User Experience Designer at a tech company, and industry related tools including Figma and InVision. Workshop attendees practiced using these tools by completing a hands-on UX Design project.

Workshop with Rice Art Society and Rice Business Society
January 31st 7:00pm - 9:00pm
In January we hosted two workshops with Rice University clubs Rice Art Society and Rice Business Society. During these workshops we taught the basics of Graphic Design and Digital Marketing. During the Graphic Design Workshop club members learned design principles, color theory, and typography and created personal logos using Adobe Illustrator. During the Digital Marketing Workshop club members learned about organic and paid social media marketing and mocked up Facebook ads using Adobe InDesign.
Workshop with Thoughtspace at Texas A&M
January 30th 7:00pm - 8:00pm
In January we hosted a User Experience Design workshop with Thoughtspace at Texas A&M University. Thoughtspace is an incredibly cool student run startup hoping to 'uberize internships' by partnering with companies looking for interns and students looking to explore new career paths. During the workshop Thoughtspace members created mockup designs of a potential app for their startup.
Workshop with Catalyst at Duke
January 24th 6:00pm - 7:30pm
In January we hosted a User Experience Design workshop with Catalyst at Duke University. Catalyst is a student organization at Duke hoping to connect students who are tech enthusiasts through social and professional events. During the workshop Catalyst members learned UX tools such as Figma and InVision and created mockups of social apps for Duke students.
Workshop with Duke Marketing Club
January 24th 5:00pm - 6:00pm
In January we hosted a Graphic Design workshop with Duke Marketing Club on the Adobe Creative Suite and Marketing. We went over the Adobe Creative Suite Programs and how they fit into a marketer's toolkit. During the workshop club members created posters for their student organization using Adobe InDesign.
Workshop with Duke Business Oriented Women
January 23rd 5:00pm - 6:00pm
In January we hosted a Web Design workshop with Duke Business Oriented Women. We went over design principles, color theory, and typography as well as web design tips. During the workshop club members used Wix's website builder to create personal websites they could use to showcase their resume and personal portfolio to potential employers.
Design Competition
December 28th - January 4th
Over winter break we ran a design competition for students interested in Graphic Design, User Experience Design, and Product Management. Student participants were tasked with redesigning the mobile weather app for a better user experience. Submissions included mockups of a redesigned app and a UX case study and our competition winner was Emily Wu!
Careers in Tech Conference
November 4th - 6th
At the beginning of November we hosted a virtual Careers in Tech conference. Our conference included talks from rockstar professionals in tech, virtual coffee chats between students and tech professionals, and the opportunity for students to apply to jobs and internships. We had over 300 student attendees!
Workshop with RamDev
October 29th 5:00pm - 6:00pm
In October we hosted a workshop with RamDev, a club for developers at Virginia Commonwealth University! During this workshop we discussed how to conquer the behavioral interview. We discussed the STAR method and had club members practice typical behavioral questions with each other.
Workshop with Black Women in STEM
September 25th 5:30pm - 6:30pm
In September we hosted a marketing workshop with Black Women in STEM at Virginia Commonwealth University. During this workshop we discussed growth marketing and organic social media marketing. During the workshop club members built an Instagram presence and following using growth marketing strategies.
